Charleigh, Jen, Nathan & Gavin
We purchased our home in 2012 and embarked on a simple cosmetic interior remodel. The 3bed/2bath 1,525 sq foot home was perfect to start our lives together. We even got engaged on the 1st day we moved in! From 2014 - 2015 we took on an expansive remodel of the exterior of the home and the property. Adding covered living spaces and transforming the backyard into an entertainers dream.
Over the next several years we started a family and welcomed our first child, Charleigh Mae in 2016. Our lives and needs for the home changed quickly and we realized with the 3 of us more space was desired. We brought in Jim Frisbee of JDF Design and created several different plans for a major expansion on our 1,500 sq foot home. At the same time we searched for a new home to buy. This process went on for 2 + years until we finally realized everything we love and created was right in front of us and we committed to a full Rebuild from the ground up. The foot print of the home remained the same but from the foundation up everything was rebuilt and a second story was added. We just needed the right builder to make our dreams a reality. As we continued project planning in 2019 we learned Jen was pregnant with our son to be, Gavin.
We always like to say “subtle style” when we think of our home and overall inspiration. The details, materials, optimization of space, nothing was overlooked. We put significant thought into every room and space. With a team approach our collaboration with Jeff, on site team lead Nick, and Designer Hanin Smith of Hide Studio allowed us to evolve our project throughout the building process.
We found design ideas, material preferences, and color choices from various sources. Print Media, Online Social Media such as Instagram, and tours of other builds Halcyon executed previously. Through a number of sources we documented preferences and style then delivered to the Team. Jeff was instrumental in bringing ideas and pictures to life with his experience and expertise.
Having been through several builds and remodels over the previous 20 years I will say that our experience with Halcyon has been the best yet. Every build has it challenges, but Halcyon stayed dedicated to our project throughout and even after completed. They delivered on time/schedule with a high level of detail and quality.
The character, craftsmanship, and confidence that Halcyon brought to our home has created the finished product we dreamed about for years.
