Jeff Maitner(jefe) - President
I grew up in the building trades working summers in my dad’s metal fabrication shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 2003 I completed a B.A. majoring in Business Management and minoring in Studio Art. The uncommon degree combination illustrates a unique ability to blend form and function. I am able to effectively manage projects while maintaining a keen eye on aesthetics and design. After college I spent 12 years gaining hands on experience in every aspect of custom homebuilding while working for a renowned homebuilder out of Del Mar. The path was the perfect lead up to the conception of Halcyon and role as its team leader.
Nick Sivertsen (Sivo) - Project Manager & Lead Carpenter
Nick is a perfect fit as he embodies all the values that are the backbone of Halcyon. With meticulous attention to detail he takes pride in each step while executing phenomenal craftsmanship. He does it all with a great attitude and good humor(everyone at Halcyon thinks they are pretty funny). Nick comes by way of Macmaster’s Beach, Australia where he honed his building craft by completing an apprenticeship program in carpentry. He spent the next eight years working for custom home builders in Australia before leaving to chase waves in Central America. His travels ended up in N. county San Diego and where he started a family… We are so glad he did and you will be too!
